We're loving the new series of Great British Sewing Bee, and it's brilliant to see judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young back on our screens. The next episode is on tonight (Wednesday) as a change from the usual Tuesday schedule.

In honour of Sewing Bee celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, the judges took a trip down memory lane and shared their favourite makes from the last ten series.

The video was shared on the Sewing Bee Instagram account, and featured Esme and Patrick standing in the sewing room musing on their favourite sewing patterns.

In the video, Patrick says: "Ten years of Sewing Bee, hasn't it flown by? We're having a little trip down memory lane. We're trying to recall some of the most memorable makes of the ten series that we've made."

Esme went on to share her favourite make – from last year's winner Asmaa, who took part in series nine. She said: "It was the Made to Measure challenge and it was how you turn one dress into two dresses. She did an amazing job. It was so clever. It really had the wow factor."

Patrick revealed that his most memorable make is from Neil in series three. He said: "Neil made a kilt, and Neil's kilt, I have to say, was every bit as good as my kilt, which was made by a professional kilt maker in Scotland."

Another highlight for Esme was made by Therese in a Transformation Challenge in series six, who turned a sleeping bag into a bunch of grapes. Esme said: "It really made me smile. In fact, laugh."

A further favourite of Patrick's was Raph's creation in series seven in Reuse, Reduce, Recycle week, who made a dress out of old denim. Patrick said: "Using the frayed edges of the denim, creating the kind of foam on the waves."

He continued: "The way he created something incredibly, incredibly beautiful and powerful. That story about the damage we are doing to the oceans through fashion, told through a dress made out of recycled old denim, was perfection."

Esme also mentioned a garment made by Matt in series six, a cut-out gown made for his partner Greg. She said: "It really had impact. He really thought about it, Matt, and how it would fit his partner. I actually thought it really suited Greg."

We can't wait to see how the sewers get on this week, as they battle it out for a place in the quarter final. This week is Lingerie Week, and in the next Pattern Challenge, the sewers will be tasked with making a pyjama blouse, with piping over the front and cuffs.

Next they will take on the Transformation Challenge, in which Patrick and Esme will ask them to make new outfits out of existing pieces of shapewear and lace.

Finally in the Made to Measure Challenge, the sewers must attempt boning in a bustier dress perfectly fitted to their model.

The Great British Sewing Bee is on Wednesday 3 July at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
