Football season is well underway and after weeks of homemade game-day eats, you might be ready for a break from kitchen duties. Luckily, many of our favorite restaurants have stepped up with some big deals to get you through football Sunday without washing a pan. For example, Wendy’s dropped its Saucy Nugg Party Pack and Buffalo Wild Wings added bacon-filled sandwiches and new sauce to its menu to kick off the season. While chicken is undoubtedly a crowd-pleasing staple, we can all agree that pizza is right up there in the ranks, too. It’s the perfect meal because it’s easy to customize for a group and you can always find a great deal.

And if there’s one thing we know to be true in both food and sports: Everyone loves a comeback. This year—for the fifth year in a row—Papa Johns is bringing back one of its biggest, cheesiest menu items yet. That’s right, The Shaq-a-Roni Pizza is back.

Papa Johns' Shaq-a-Roni Pizza Returns

Papa Johns' Shaq-a-Roni Pizzas are returning to locations nationwide this month, but only for a limited time. The extra-large pizza is piled high with extra cheese and over 60 slices of pepperoni. It’s cut into eight mega-sized slices for a meal worthy of the basketball legend himself, Shaquille O’Neal.

While you’re chowing down, you can feel good knowing that the impact of your order reaches far beyond just dinner. Just as with Pizza Hut’s Book It! program, Shaq-a-Roni Pizzas give back to the community. In partnership with the Papa Johns Foundation, a portion of sales go towards community programs that support youth and fight food insecurity.

“It’s not just about great pizza—I’m proud that every pizza sold helps support the communities we serve,” said O’Neal in a recent press release.

Fans can snag a Shaq-a-Roni Pizza starting Oct. 21. Papa Rewards members, however, get first dibs on the returning menu item and will be able to order through the app from Oct. 14 onwards. This limited-time offer won’t last long so be sure to order yours before it’s gone.
