Panera Fans Begged for the Return of These Menu Items—Now They’re Back

Panera has been working hard to create new items inspired by what its fans love. Earlier this year, it launched more than 20 new and revamped items and recently announced a lineup of indulgent treats along with additional breakfast sandwich options. The chain also added cold drinks to fill out the beverage menu and even added them to the Unlimited Sip Club selection, so we have plenty of tasty options to fill up our cups.

Now, Panera is expanding its menu again. The newest drop features four all-new delicious meal options and two returning favorites that will have fans rethinking their breakfast plans.

Panera Launches the Spicy Fiesta Chicken Sandwich, Kickin’ Grilled Cheese, and Avocado Toast

In a recent press release, the fast-casual chain announced several new items landing on menus nationwide this week. The chain is launching a spicy chicken sandwich, a twist on their classic grilled cheese, and two varieties of a popular brunch favorite. In addition, two previously discontinued bagel flavors have returned to the store.

Panera's new Spicy Fiesta Chicken Sandwich is made with crusty ciabatta bread piled high with grilled chicken, white Cheddar, sweet peppers, roasted corn, and garnished with cilantro. The sandwich is tied together with the restaurant's new creamy salsa verde spread.

For those who can't get enough of the tangy salsa verde, you can also snag a Kickin' Grilled Cheese, which features the ingredients of Panera's traditional grilled cheese but with a flavorful upgrade. In addition to American cheese, the sandwich will include white Cheddar and salsa verde spread. It's served on classic white miche bread and toasted to perfection.

In addition to the sandwiches, Panera is also adding a unique menu item. Two flavors of avocado toast are now being served in its bakery-cafés nationwide. The vegetarian-friendly meal features Country Rustic Sourdough Bread, toasted and topped with chunky avocado spread. The new offering is available in two varieties—Classic Avo and Garden Avo. Classic Avo features everything bagel seasoning and a sprinkle of sea salt and pepper. The Garden Avo has the same seasoning but adds slices of fresh tomato and savory garlic aioli.

For those who keep it simple with a morning bagel, get excited because two flavors are back, thanks to customer requests. The Blueberry Bagels and Sesame Bagels are making a comeback after being removed from menus earlier this year. It looks like these will be sticking around because the chain made no indication that the bagels are a limited-time item.

To celebrate the return of those beloved bagel options, Panera has shared a "Bagels are Back Sandwich Hack" that allows customers to snag two bagel sandwiches for the price of one full-sized sandwich.

Just order any full-sized sandwich and customize the bread to the bagel of your choice, and you'll be served two bagel sandwiches.
