Pancake Day: Queen's own recipe will see you dine like royalty on Shrove Tuesday
If you're a lover of a Scotch pancake then you're in very esteemed company.
The late Queen Elizabeth was a big fan of this type of pancake - which she referred to as a drop scone - and even shared her personal recipe with a former American President.
The Queen, who died in September 2022, revealed she was partial to whipping up a batch of Scotch pancakes when she sent the recipe to former American President Dwight Einsenhower after she had hosted him at her Balmoral estate.

In a 2013 book Letters of Note by Shaun Usher, it was revealed she wrote to President Eisenhower when she was 34 years old after promising to share her recipe.
She wrote: "Dear Mr President. Seeing a picture of you in today's newspaper, standing in front of a barbecue grilling quail, reminded me that I had never sent you the recipe of the drop scones which I promised you at Balmoral. I hope you will find them successful."
The late Monarch also went on to offer some top tips on how to top them and on preparing the batter. She said: "I have also tried using golden syrup or treacle instead of only sugar and that can be very good, too."
And she added: "I think the mixture needs a great deal of beating while making, and shouldn't stand about too long before cooking," reports www.hellomagazine.com
