Oti Mabuse on why she signed up to I'm A Celeb after becoming a mum - 'I want adventure'
Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse is officially heading into the jungle for I'm A Celeb and has said having her baby is the reason why she’s heading to the other side of the world. Oti, 34, confessed: “Now I have had my baby daughter, I want to get back to the adventurous and fun Oti.”
Oti gave birth to her daughter last November and says that while she wants to take on this adventure, she knows it’ll be tough leaving her one-year-old at home. Oti added: “Of course not seeing my daughter is going to be hard. She is going to be one of my biggest motivators.”
The star also said she hopes to use motherhood to her advantage in more ways than one. “I am going to catch up on a whole year’s sleep” but also insists she’d like to be a “comfort mum in camp” and said she’d happily listen to her fellow campmates’ stories, as well as motivate them.

She also revealed that her husband, Marius, is “really excited” about her taking part. And Oti also expressed she’s pleased to let her competitive nature out. She added it’s “nice to be determined, ambitious and competitive when it comes to doing a challenge. It will be about getting the stars.”
Oti rocketed to fame when she joined the 2015 series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2015. She is the only pro to win Strictly two years in a row in 2019 and 2020 with Kelvin Fletcher and then Bill Bailey.
Also heading into the jungle alongside Oti are Tulisa Contostavlos, Coleen Rooney, Barry McGuigan, Danny Jones, Melvin Odoom, Oti Mabuse, Alan Halsall, Jane Moore, GK Barry and Dean McCullough can all be seen raring to go in the newly-released picture for the series. While rumoured contestants Maura Higgins and Rev. Richard Coles are not included in the confirmed line-up, there is speculation they could be camp's two late arrivals to finish off the cast.
Before the show has even started, bookies are already betting that McFly's Danny will take home the jungle crown. With Danny's winning streak on The Masked Singer and his bandmate Dougie Poynter's Jungle victory back in 2011, many are predicting he will follow suit. Danny even said he’s had his “fair share of winnings” recently, and hopes to make it a “treble” for 2024.
