Oprah Winfrey Sparkles in Sequined Little Black Dress by Valentino for Tina Turner Tribute at Grammys 2024
Oprah Winfrey made a surprise appearance at the Grammy Awards on Sunday in Los Angeles. The talk show host, author and entrepreneur introduced a tribute to the late Tina Turner, which was performed by “The Color Purple” star Fantasia Barrino. Winfrey served as a producer on the movie-musical.
At the Grammys, Winfrey sported a vintage sequined minidress by Valentino, pairing it with Pomellato jewelry, black pumps and sheer stockings. Stylist Annabelle Harron, who has also worked with stars like Elizabeth Debicki and Patricia Arquette, dressed Winfrey for the occasion.

“Tina’s voice continues to speak to all of us,” Winfrey said ahead of Barrino’s rendition of “Proud Mary.”
Winfrey was close with Turner, having interviewed the musical legend multiple times on her Emmy-winning talk show. Last year, Turner passed away at the age of 83 following a battle with kidney disease.
Winfrey, who celebrated her 70th birthday last week, channeled the sparkling embellishments trend that kicked off in 2023. After designers like Valentino, Jil Sander and Rick Owens sent sequins, crystals and shine down the runway last year, celebrities swiftly followed suit at high-profile events like the Oscars and the Met Gala.
The 2024 Grammys, held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, celebrated the biggest artists, albums and songs of the year. Hosted by comedian Trevor Noah, the 66th annual ceremony featured performances from Billie Eilish, SZA, Dua Lipa and Olivia Rodrigo, among others. The Recording Academy presented Lifetime Achievement Awards to Donna Summer, N.W.A., Tammy Wynette and Gladys Knight.
