Oprah Winfrey looks incredible in a purple off-shoulder gown
Oprah Winfrey looked incredible in a purple off-shoulder gown as she attended the 81st Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, 7 January.
The 69 year old American TV host was an absolute vision as she walked the red carpet in a velvet floor length purple gown.
Flattering the star's figure beautifully, the host's dress also featured a stunning off-shoulder design and sequin finish.
For her hair and makeup, Oprah opted for a smokey purple eye paired with a neutral pink lip and natural base. This was complimented by her glamorous curls swept to one side.
The star's purple choice was a subtle nod to her co-produced film The Colour Purple, which was nominated for Fantasia Barrino for the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy and Danielle Brooks for the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture.
Someone else who also caught our eye on the red carpet this year has to be Helen Mirren in a stylish lilac and mauve gown paired with a matching dramatic coat.
The 78 year old actress opted for a figure hugging purple floor length dress. However her dramatic coat took centre stage, embracing chic bell sleeves and a flowing train.
To add to her glamorous look, the actress accessorised her outfit with a statement diamond necklace and matching chandelier earrings.
To finish off her sensational look, Helen styled her silver locks in a sleek bun and opted for a natural makeup look and pretty pink lip.
Oprah and Helen embraced the purple trend this year.
