The online food shops still taking orders for home deliveries
Supermarkets are under more strain than ever as new measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus kick in.
Delivery slots are scarce and regular trips are discouraged unless it is to buy essentials. We've compiled the latest information on the supermarket's delivery slots here.
This doesn’t mean it’s impossible to do your food shop while staying safe and self-isolated.
But if you're still struggling to secure a delivery with the major supermarkets, stick to smaller online food shops instead.
It’s the easiest way to get hold of fresh food too, with many butchers, bakeries and farm shops sending produce made to order.
These are the places that are still delivering, so you won’t need to leave your house to keep the fridge stocked up.

While all its cafes are closed for now, Daylesford farm shops are still open and its groceries are available to order from its online shop to be delivered in London. To order to a London address, Daylesford advises calling your local farm shop or emailing delivered@daylesford.com.
You can create a bespoke order or choose from seasonal dishes like spiced salmon fillets with slow-roasted tomatoes and ginger or grass-pastured beef burger with blue cheese, bacon jam, pickled beets and crisp potatoes.
Delivery is expensive for London customers, however, costing £8.50 for the first two-miles, then £3 every mile after that, up to just five miles. Alongside that, there is a range of Daylesford goods on Deliveroo too.
It is also offering deliveries in the Cotswolds, but only to those who are self-isolating. If you fall into that category, ring 01608 731 680 to arrange a delivery. Orders must reach a minimum of £30.
If you have a sweet tooth, place an order with Betty’s, the famous Yorkshire bakery and tea room, which is still offering online deliveries. With everything you need for a teatime treat from cakes, bread, biscuits, chocolates, teas and coffees, you can get your sugar fix from one place.
It has currently stopped taking new orders until April 15, in order to keep up with demand. But during these surreal times, Betty's will still be taking Easter orders for the whole of April.
Delivery costs from £3.95 and we’d recommend getting your Easter egg hampers and chocolates sorted now before they sell out. We’ve got our eye on the white chocolate pink Easter egg. It advises that orders already placed may face slight delays.

The luxury online fishmonger is accepting orders but unable to deliver to some of the UK's more remote postcodes, you can check if yours falls into that category here. The peeling king prawns look delicious and will pair nicely in a pasta dish or as a prawn cocktail starter. If you can’t treat yourself now, then when can you?
If your basket comes to less than £50, delivery will be £7.50, but for anything over £75 you will get free delivery.
For customers who want just a short term solution before a large shop comes, this can be found at Social Pantry, which is offering a special home-delivery menu cooked up by its chefs in breakfast, lunch and dinner packs that will last three days. They delivery within a six-mile radius of Wandsworth, where it's based, so if you're in London, orders start from £32 with a delivery fee of £5.
Jake’s Artisan Foods is a small hand-cut pork pie company based in Petersfield with a simple menu of individuals pies costing £3.50 and a family-size version for £32.
Made with freshly chopped, locally sourced free-range pork with sea salt and pepper, it’s comfort food at its finest. Standard home delivery will cost you £6.95, so we’d recommend buying big to get your money’s worth of pie.
In Scotland, Jarvis Pickle Pies makes handmade meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan pastry pockets and offers free delivery when you order 12 or more from its online shop. Available in batches of four, eight, 12 or 16, fillings include Moroccan lamb, beef and ale, spinach and goat cheese, vegan cauliflower curry and more. All are made fresh, and you will need to order by midnight on Thursdays to qualify for delivery the following week, anywhere in the UK.
If you buy four pies, Jarvis Pickle Pies will donate one pie to FareShare, a charity tackling food waste, which will distribute them to vulnerable people such as homeless hostels, community groups and food banks.
For meat-lovers, if you’ve been struggling to get hold of poultry, beef or pork in your local supermarket, head to Turner & George, whose small team of butchers have curated a British reared menu from independent farms. They dry-age in-house and make their own sausages and burgers.
Its staples box should be enough to see you through a few weeks of dinner, featuring a whole herb fed chicken, four pork loin chops, four lambs T-bones, six breakfast sausages, back bacon and 500g of ground beef. Plus, key workers and over 70’s can get a 20 per cent discount on it by emailing email info@turnerandgeorge.co.uk for a code.
Southwark based butchery, The Ginger Pig, is also catering to the masses with its cuts of beef, lamb and pork, as well as it's bakery goods and Easter selection which is all available for delivery across the UK. Taken from British livestock, we’ve got our eye on the sirloin steaks, £27.50 for two 350g pieces.
Pricey yes, but a nice way treat for a special dinner, maybe an anniversary or birthday stuck indoors? For London deliveries, email sam@thegingerpig.co.uk and for nationwide, just select a delivery slot on its website.
Further south you’ll find Phillip Warren Butchers in Cornwall which specialise in British reared cattle, but also has poultry, bacon, lamb and burgers. The butchery is also a meat supplier to around 20 Michelin starred restaurants, including Rick Stein’s Bistro in Padstow.
It will deliver across England for £9.99, so to get your money’s worth of meat, we’d suggest getting a big order in. Or, if you spend over £100, delivery is free, with all deliveries guaranteed to arrive by midday, dispatched on the next working day. Delivery to postcodes, PL, TR and EX23 costs £4.99.
Meanwhile, Hej at Home is offering veg boxes, bakery boxes and small-batch coffee survival packs, along with essential hampers of milk, bread, coffee, butter and flour, starting from £20. Delivery to your doorstep is only available in London, but any orders outside of London will be delivered by post within five working days.
This family-run, north London-based cheesemaker needs to be on your radar if you're partial to a Mediterranean salad. Founded in 2015, Kupros Dairy was inspired by the founders’ grandmother, who made and sold cheese and bread in Cyprus. Kupros Dairy sources raw milk from ewes in Lancashire and turns it into award-winning British cheese, which it sells online. Its semi-hard “anglum” cheese has a similar flakey texture to halloumi, which Kupros says is perfect for grilling and frying. It offers other cheeses too, like the crumbly and sharp “London fettle”.
Since the coronavirus pandemic has severely impacted its business due to cafe and restaurant closures, Kupros has also launched its own “essentials” grocery service, available for collection and delivery from its hub in north London and collection from its base in Surrey. The essentials package costs £55 and includes fresh bread, eggs, milk, cheese, flour, pasta and pastries, as well as other supplies.
The cheesemaker also offers a 10 per cent discount for all NHS workers on its essential packages, as well as a 15 per cent discount for NHS trusts that order a minimum of 20 baskets, with a special delivery service available for trusts within a 100 mile radius. There’s discounts available on cheese orders too: NHS workers can get 30 per cent off by contacting Kupros for a discount code, while everyone else can get a 25 per cent off discount with the code “STAYHEALTHY25”.
