The One Show's Alex Jones has landed a brand new gig with the BBC.

The long-time TV presenter is set to take to the airwaves from 6 September, fronting her own show on BBC Radio Wales. Every Sunday morning for six weeks from then on, she'll be joined by special guests for "a relaxed mix of music and conversation".

Comedian Rhod Gilbert and his wife Sian Harries, entrepreneurs Sophie and Hannah Pycroft, and Denise van Outen are just some of the notable names she'll be speaking to in the coming weeks, as the segment aims to champion Welsh talent.

"I'm so excited to get my headphones back on for BBC Radio Wales and to play some of my favourite songs," Jones said in a statement.

"There is something so special about radio – the connection you can have with the listeners and there's something extra special about talking to people in Wales."

"Alex is one of the country's best loved presenters. Her style and warmth makes her perfect for radio.

Sunday Mornings With Alex Jones kick off on 6 September on BBC Radio Wales. The One Show airs Mondays through Fridays at 7pm on BBC One.
