The One Show's Alex Jones fights back tears over emotional moment live on air
The One Show presenter Alex Jones became teary-eyed as a touching moment left her almost speechless on the hit BBC programme.
Alex and her co-star Roman Kemp were back on the famous green sofa on Wednesday (November 13) for another jam-packed episode. Joined by actress Daisy Ridley, the pair were later accompanied by Emily from the Children in Need challenge squad.
Emily, 21, from North London, who uses a wheelchair and walking sticks to assist her with her mobility, walked along the iconic tree-lined avenue to raise money for Children in Need. After completing her three-day walk, Emily joined Alex and Roman in the studio, to explain how harsh the conditions were.
Speaking candidly about Emily's triumph, Alex was consumed with emotion. She said: "You can't even see on camera, I don't think, but when I watched you today, gosh, doing the long walk, honestly, it's so hard. It's so hard!"

Alex continued: "I think it's one of the hardest challenges I've seen on Children in Need and you did it. How does it feel now that you've taken it on and you've absolutely conquered it?"
Emily replied: It feels so good to have completed it because there was a part of me that really thought I couldn't, especially because I got sick just before. But I feel amazing to have completed it and I'm really proud of myself."
Witnessing Emily's achievement, viewers at home headed over to social media site X to congratulate her, with one writing: "Well done lass. You're a superstar!"
Another impressed viewer said: "Well done Emily!! What a brave, courageous young lady. Many congratulations to her on such an incredible achievement."
Emily was set the tough walking challenge by The One Show as she previously expressed that she always wanted the opportunity to walk the furthest she's ever walked before.
The young star's walk did not go unnoticed as she was also joined by the Duchess of Edinburgh on her challenge as she continues her commitment to support young and disabled people across the country.
The One Show airs Mondays- Fridays at 7pm on BBC One.
