The One Show hosts close show with very special tribute to Timothy West
BBC's The One Show made for emotional viewing during the latest episode as they paid tribute to the late actor Timothy West.
Presenters Alex Jones and Roman Kemp were back for another instalment of the popular BBC programme, where they were joined by Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley and 21-year-old Emily from the Children in Need challenge squad.
As the show came to a close for another evening, Alex and Roman shared a touching tribute dedicated to actor Timothy. Earlier today (November 13), the actor's family released a statement to confirm that he sadly died in his sleep on Tuesday.
Devoting the last few minutes of The One Show to him, host Alex said: "And just before we go, we wanted to say how saddened we are on the news that Timothy West has died at the age of 90."
Roman added, "Yeah, he was a brilliant actor who many will remember for his role in EastEnders. He also recently made a lovely film for us alongside his wife, Fawlty Towers star Prunella Scales."
Alex then shared: "So we're going to leave you now with a touching moment from that film that was all about their relationship."
The programme then proceeded to show a clip of the actor reading a touching letter to his wife, Prunella, and him discussing how their relationship blossomed.

On Wednesday, November 13, Timothy's children released a joint statement confirming the sad news.
Posted on his son Samuel's X account, the statement read: "After a long and extraordinary life on and off the stage, our father Timothy West died peacefully in his sleep yesterday evening. He was 90 years old.
"Tim was with friends and family at the end. He leaves his wife Prunella Scales, to whom he was married for 61 years, a sister, a daughter, two sons, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. All of us will miss him terribly."
The statement ended by saying: "We would like to thank the incredible NHS staff at St George's Hospital, Tooting and at the Avery Wandsworth for their loving care during his last days. Juliet, Samuel and Joseph West."
