A woman sobbed as she recalled spending time with Liam Payne before he tragically fell to his death.

Carola Gauna said she had 'goosebumps' after meeting the 31-year-old One Direction star, who posed for a smiley picture with her. In a tearful TikTok video, she even spoke about Liam singing to her.

She recalled: "He smiled at me and sang. I got goosebumps’... I'm one of the last people he spoke to. I'm one of the last people he sang to. I went from having the happiest day of my life to one of the saddest."

Then in a follow-up video, she added: "Do you understand that I still have his perfume on me? I think it's crazy. I know he was a celebrity and he didn't even care about me, but today I had a nice moment with him. How unfair!"

Chloe's first video has amassed 2.8 million views – and many took the time to share their words of support too. One responder wrote: "Omg I am so sorry."

Another said: "Imagine meeting your idol and then knowing that you were one of the people who heard him sing. Oh my heart, sending strength." And a third added: "This is so devastating."

The encounter seems to have left Carola shaken – as she later returned to social media to ask people to give her some space. She added: "Don't write to me, don't call me. Have some decency."

Liam Payne's preliminary autopsy findings reveal he died from "multiple traumas" that caused "internal and external bleeding". The former One Direction member tragically died after falling from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room on Wednesday night in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Staff at the hotel were left shaken as they made an urgent 911 call regarding his critical state just before he passed away.

In the aftermath of the heartbreaking event, Liam's grieving relatives released a heart-breaking statement. It reads: "We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts and we'll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time."

Fans and Liam's famous friends have also offered their condolences. Bandmate Niall Horan said he was "absolutely devastated" to have lost such an "amazing friend".

X Factor stars also posted heartfelt tributes to the beloved One Direction star. Alongside a black and white photo of himself with Liam, Dermot O'Leary wrote: "The worst news. I remember him as a 14 year old turning up to audition on The X Factor, and blowing us away singing Sinatra. He just loved to sing."

Olly Murs, who was on The X Factor one year before Liam found fame, posted a picture of them together. “We always had a good laugh when we saw each other, sometimes the catch ups were only short and sweet but when we did it was mostly about how annoyingly good his hair always looked, or our love for Becks, the old XF (X Factor) days and the tour we shared together."
