One of the Country’s Best Restaurants Will Now Deliver Meals Right to Your Door
You can now make food from one of the country’s best restaurants in the comfort of your own kitchen.
Gregory Gourdet’s Kann, based in Portland, has begun offering delivery via Goldbelly, with service starting on Friday. The restaurant, which opened in 2022, quickly became a nationwide hit, earning a spot on our Best New Restaurants list and winning the James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant in 2023.

“In the two-plus years of Kann’s operation, it has been our goal to share the flavors and stories of Haiti and the diaspora with as many people as possible, and we are thrilled that Goldbelly offers another point of connection,” Gourdet said in a statement.
The offerings available through Goldbelly spotlight Gourdet’s Haitian cuisine, which also draws on the food of the African and Caribbean diasporas. The packages can feed anywhere from two to eight people, and they include both Kann favorites and Goldbelly exclusives. In terms of the former, you can order the signature salad Russe, peanut creamed collard greens, and diri ak sos pwa (Haitian rice with beans sauce). As for the latter, there’s chicken in Creole sauce, pork chop with ginger-thyme sauce, and Haitian chocolate and peanut butter tart with habanero salt.
Alongside the meal packages, you can add on individual items including pikliz (spicy pickled vegetables), epis sausage made by Olympia Provisions exclusively for Kann, and kowosol (a coconut-milk-based nonalcoholic beverage with soursop). Just like Kann’s entire menu, all of the dishes offered are gluten- and dairy-free, and the menus will change seasonally.
Gourdet had his breakout moment as a contestant on Top Chef, and he’s since become one of the most powerful chefs in the country. Along with Kann, he operates the Caribbean-inspired bar Sousòl beneath the restaurant. And he’s set to go bicoastal, teaming up with Kent Hospitality Group to open the dining concepts at the forthcoming Printemps department store in New York City.
While that’s well and good for those who live in either Portland or New York—or those who visit—others may not have the option to visit a Gourdet location IRL. Thanks to his partnership with Goldbelly, though, anyone throughout the United States is now able to whip up a Kann feast for their friends and family. No reservation required.
