Omaze is giving away its first house in Wales and it's lush
There's a stunning contemporary dream home nestled into the Powys countryside waiting for a new owner as the incredible property prize of Omaze's new Great Escape House Draw, Wales. The detached house near Hay-on-Wye comes fully-furnished and the lucky winner who will call this modern masterpiece their home will also be given £50,000 to help them settle in.
This Welsh rural retreat is the prize that will help raise funds for Scouts, the world’s largest youth movement that aims to help young people between the ages of four and 25 and from all backgrounds gain the skills they need for life. Omaze states that Scouts are guaranteed at least £1m from this prize draw.
Nestled into a stunning rural location and cocooned by nature, the prize-winning dream home has three bedrooms and comes fully-furnished, so all a new owner has to do is turn up and enjoy calling this peaceful and private property their home. Inside, windows provide framed views of the glorious Welsh countryside, which the winner can enjoy from the spacious living area, complete with oak floorboards and a cream corner sofa as a hub for relaxation and socialising in front of the cosy log burning stove.
Natural light cascades through roof windows into the bespoke, freestanding kitchen which will impress the cook with solid wood countertop and timeless, country-style design. The spacious main bedroom has a vaulted ceiling boasting roof windows that provide the memorable opportunity to regularly star gaze directly from the bed below - if there are no clouds to spoil the experience.
The addition of a traditional wood burner with a striking, stainless steel flue adds to the effortlessly sophisticated and yet simple design of this main slumber space as well as cocooning the room in heat to ensure it is cosy and inviting, even when the winter temperatures plummet. The house offers a further two guest bedrooms and a mezzanine study.
Outside, against the backdrop of mature trees and foliage, and the best vistas nature can create, teeming with wildlife and birds, the house offers the perfect place to enjoy it all from the garden terrace.
Under foot there's stylish black decking combined with a canopy of black corrugated tin above, which also seamlessly visually links to the property's attractive external cladding. Peeping through the foliage are vistas from the veranda of four acres of private wildflower meadowland.
The modern property is also built for the future, with environmental efficiency incorporated into the design of the tin-clad building. It comes complete with an air source heat pump, providing hot water and zoned underfloor heating.
As well as making one lucky person the winner of this idyllic retreat, the Omaze Great Escape House Draw, Wales, will raise money for Scouts, who inspire nearly half a million young people to step up, speak up and gain skills for life.
Much of Scouts’ work is in areas of deprivation, with the fewest opportunities for young people. Being part of Scouts helps young people aged four to 24 feel good about themselves, make friends and dream big.
The money raised from the partnership with Omaze will fund Scouts to help young people get active, make friends and learn new skills. Part of the minimum guarantee of £1,000,000 could fund the creation of a further 1,200 Squirrels places.
James Oakes, chief international officer at Omaze, said: "Everyone at Omaze is very excited to be offering our first home in Wales. By offering this stunning rural retreat, along with £50,000 in cash, Omaze gives people the chance to win a life-changing prize, whilst also raising money for charities, such as Scouts.
"Our charity partners get introduced to vast new audiences that they wouldn't otherwise reach. We’re extremely proud that the Omaze Community has raised over £60 million for good causes across the UK."
The 1,300 square foot property comes mortgage-free, with all stamp duty and legal fees covered. Draw entries for the Omaze Great Escape House Draw, Wales, are available now at omaze.co.uk where you will find all the terms and conditions, including needing to be 18 or over and a UK resident to enter. The Draw closes on November 10, 2024.
In addition, there's also a new Grand Prize in the Omaze Million Pound House Draw - a house on The Wirral worth over £3m plus £250,00 in cash.
