Olympics-Ready Metallics Dominated Haute Couture Street Style
The 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are still a month away, but they were top of mind at Haute Couture Fashion Week — both on the runway and in street style.
While we saw designers like Maria Grazia Chiuri and Thom Browne explicitly reference the event in their latest collections through sport-inspired silhouettes and metallic flourishes, there were more subtle Olympic nods outside the shows, as guests embraced gold and silver touches, as well as draping reminiscent of togas. There were also the requisite daytime gowns (this is couture, after all), as well as Parisian style staples (think jeans and a blazer or button-down).
