A cat in Ohio has been brought to safety after a harrowing encounter with a truck.

On Wednesday, June 19, the Ohio State Highway Patrol announced that they had rescued a kitten in May after she was found stuck between the wheels of a truck.

“Mission Im-paw-sible,” words at the start of the video shared by the department on X (formerly known as Twitter) read. “On May 14, 2024, a commercial truck driver located a curious kitten struck in between the tires of his semi during a pre-trip inspection on the Ohio Turnpike in Portage County.”

The video then showed the kitten trapped in between two wheels while onlookers attempted to figure out how to rescue it.

Large vehicles were then brought in to see how the cat could be rescued.

"If you lift it and it doesn’t work will you be willing to loosen the wheel?” someone asked behind the camera during the footage.

“Its paw’s stuck,” one person added as the camera zoomed into a team member looking between the wheels. “It’s holding on with its claw."

The video then switched to another member of the rescue team explaining that the other teammates had to be ready to catch the kitten as they underwent the rescue operation.

“Man, he really don’t want to come out of there, come on,” the individual filming said as they encouraged the animal to emerge. “All you gotta do is come out.”

Tools from the wheel had also been removed to make the process easier.  After removing the wheel, a team member quickly carried the kitten and placed her in a box.

Carrying the box, another individual explained that it was likely that the kitten had been trying to find “a place to hide.”

"Thankfully, you found her before you drove off,” the person added, with another echoing how they were "glad the driver noticed it."
