These are officially the most popular baby names in the UK right now

Whether you're keen to follow the trends with baby names, or you're desperate to know what everyone else is calling their newborns (so your child won't be one of five in a class with the same name), it's always interesting to take a look at what the most popular baby names are in the UK – and rather handily, the Office of National Statistics have just shared their latest update.

Of course, while baby naming trends come and go over the years, plenty do seem to stick around for a long stretch of time, so it probably won't come as much of a shock then that Olivia and Noah are both at the top of the list and have been for quite some time.

Noah has been a firm favourite for two years now, while Olivia has held the top spot for the last seven years in a row (according to 2022 ONS data, published in 2024).

Plenty of newer monikers have been steadily on the up too in recent years, with TV show-inspired names in particular catching the eye of new parents. Uh, hello baby Maddy!
