Oasis tambourine from 'Wonderwall' recording session sells for thousands
A tambourine used by Liam Gallagher during the recording of Oasis hits including Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova has fetched more than £3,000 at auction.
The instrument was rescued from the recording session by sound engineer Nick Brine, who has now sold it for £3,600 at Hansons Auctioneers in Derbyshire.

Brine told the BBC that the tambourine was played by Gallagher during the recording of the number one album (What's The Story) Morning Glory in 1995.
The iconic record includes some of the Gallagher brothers' biggest hits, with four singles from the album charting in the top five.
The band travelled to the famous Rockfield Studios in Monmouthshire, Wales to record the album and put the tambourine to good use.
Brine added: "It was pretty battered by the end of the session and was going to be thrown away. But I claimed it."

He said the instrument had subsequently been used by the likes of Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian, but that the Oasis record has a special place in music history and "changed a lot of people's lives".
"It's the record I get asked about the most," said Brine. "That record just sums up the whole era and what music and bands were about."
Buyers at Hanson's were told they had the "opportunity to own a slice of British rock history" if they shelled out for the tambourine.
The auction house's music memorabilia expert Josh McCarthy said the price, which was more than seven times the £500 guide figure, "took my breath away".

Oasis recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of their famous gig at Knebworth Park in 1996, with the release of a documentary about the spectacular event.
The band performed to 250,000 people over two sold-out shows, as depicted in the doc directed by Jake Scott and entitled Oasis Knebworth 1996.
