The North Face Women’s ThermoBall Progressive Zip II Winter Boots review: Details, pros and cons

These boots are definitely a favourite of the ones I've ever owned. They're different from your conventional lace-up boots, that's for sure.

I love how lightweight they are, and they keep my feet super warm and dry, thanks to the ThermoBall Eco insulation. The webbing pull loop at the heel makes it super easy to pull them on, too.

I'm always cautious when walking on ice because the last thing I want to do is slip (embarrassing!), and I've noticed that these have made me feel nice and stable — amen to that.

In my opinion, they're definitely comfortable for all-day winter excursions, long walks and hikes. And another plus is that they're easy to clean! I love that the zipper closure is PU-coated, too, so I don't have to worry about it getting wet since it's protected.

My favourite thing about these winter boots has to be that they don't ruin my outfits; in fact, they have a sporty vibe that makes casual ensembles look even better.

As for cons, keep in mind that these are low-cut boots, meaning snow might touch your ankles if you're not wearing the proper socks. I do have another pair of winter boots for higher volumes of snow, so if there's a lot of snow where you live, that's something to consider.

What other people are saying

I'm not the only one who loves these women's winter boots — Sport Chek shoppers attest to them being "cute and functional."

One customer said it's a "great vegan boot," adding that they've got "great tread" and that they're "stylish" and "warm."

Another reviewer shared that they keep their "feet warm and comfortable." They continued to say that "they're stable even on slippery and icy cobblestones."

One shopper did share that, although they "would buy this product again," they "[wish] they had a [wide-width] boot" available.

"They're convenient, light and comfortable," said another customer who confirmed that these are "exactly what I was looking for."

The verdict

If you're in search of a convenient winter boot that feels as comfortable as a shoe, The North Face ThermoBall Progressive Zip II Winter Boots are a fantastic find. They've got a quick and easy design coupled with a lightweight construction, which eliminates the hassle of clunky soles or problematic laces.

However, it's worth noting that some customers have found them to fit relatively narrow and suggest sizing up if you require a wider width. These boots are ideal if you're looking for a low-cut style, but if you prefer taller boots, you should continue your search until you find your perfect pair.
