Nineties pop star welcomes baby boy and reveals very unique name
Nineties pop sensation and former Celebrity Big Brother contestant, Ben Adams, has shared happy news with fans as he announced the arrival of his second child via Instagram.
The 42 year old singer, known for his chart-topping success with pop group A1, took to social media to introduce his newborn son, Storm, alongside heartwarming photos.
Ben and his wife Sara Skjoldnes, who welcomed their first child, daughter Skylar, in 2021, expressed their excitement and gratitude in the post. Ben shared details of Storm's birth, including his birthdate, weight, and the rollercoaster of emotions experienced during the delivery process.
In his Instagram caption, Ben wrote: "Here he is!"
The star continued: "Storm Skjoldnes Adams born on 23/04/24 at 13.17 weighing 9 pounds/4.1 kilos. BIRTH IS NO JOKE!
"Tears, sweat, exhaustion, bravery… but thankfully I managed to get through it and am recovering well. Thanks for asking (@saraskjoldnes_adams did ok too). Let’s go home!"
The couple, who have been eagerly anticipating this new addition to their family, are now looking forward to bringing their bundle of joy home.
Posting news of their expanding family in 2023, Ben wrote on Instagram: "We decided we’ve had too much sleep this year…….And Skylar seems pleased to welcome a ‘dinosaur’ into the family."
Sara posted a photo of her showcasing her blossoming baby bump with a similar message, writing: "We've got a busy year ahead it seems. However, Skylar is excited to welcome a dinosaur into our family apparently."
The happy news comes after Ben and Sara finally tied the knot in 2022 after dating for 12 years. The pair kept their nuptials a secret, with the news of their marriage later announced on A1's Facebook page.
"Congratulations to the newlyweds, our dear Ben Adams and Sara Skjoldnes. May the years ahead be filled with love and joy. xxx your A1 family," the sweet post read.
A1 was made up of Ben, Paul Marazzi, Christian Ingebrigtsen and Mark Read. In 2002 Paul left the group, citing "personal reasons" and the group subsequently split up.
While Ben rose to fame as part of A1, achieving chart success with hits like Same Old Brand New You and a cover of Take On Me by a-ha, he also made headlines with his appearance on Celebrity Big Brother in 2009, where he finished in fifth place, with Ulrika Jonsson winning the series.
In 2012, he also took part in Skal Vi Danse – the Norwegian version of Strictly Come Dancing, where he came second.
A1 reunited in 2009 to represent Norway in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest and went on to produce two more studio albums, before embarking on an international tour in 2018 to mark their 20th anniversary.
Ben competed in the Eurovision Song Contest again in 2022 as part of pop band Subwoolfer with Gaute Ormåsen. The pair represented Norway in the annual competition and placed 10th.
