Nicola Peltz just made the case for this throwback lip gloss trend
Nicola Peltz Beckhamis on track to become 2023’s A-list beauty muse. The 28-year-old uploaded a car selfie with Brooklyn Peltz Beckham to her Instagram story on March 27, and proved last the Y2K wet look lipgloss is making a return to our beauty arsenal.
Back in the early 2000s sticky wet look lipgloss was at the top of every It-girl's beauty agenda from Paris Hilton to Nicola Ritchie. That being said we also have Hailey Bieber to thank for adding glossy... everything to beauty fanatics’ makeup bags last year. The Rhode beauty founder who was named most popular Beauty Icon of 2022, was responsible for trends from glazed donut skin and the donut nails, to her controversial brownie glazed lips. Videos with the hashtag 'Hailey Bieber makeup' amassed an impressive 167 million views on TikTok.

In the photo Nicola posted, the newlywed wore her brunette tresses in a sleek half up-half down look, and went minimal on the makeup other than a glazed super shiny lip. Could this be proof that last year’s glossy make up trend is getting paired back this time around? In the image, both she and her husband sported off-duty cool agendas. The Welcome to Chippendales star wore a ribbed knit jumper - proving the power she has to make anything look chic - whilst Brooklyn wore a grey hoodie with a basketball cap.
And though Peltz has proved Bieber’s signature makeup style is still going strong, Nicola is absolutely a beauty muse in her own right. She’s a not shy of experimenting with looks; from bleached blonde brows to her signature doe-eye liner and luminous Barbiecore blush cheeks, the actress constantly serves a stellar makeup repertoire.

She’s also rocked various retro glam looks including 90s supermodel style ultra thin brows and this killer70s transformation. But her old-school lipstick hack used by Kate Middleton was the simple makeup routine addition we totally forgot we needed. She posted a video for her TikTok followers creating the perfect lip stain, with a piece of blotting paper.
Recently in a post she shared with her 2.7m followers, the actress showed off her flawless complexion (what is her skincare routine?) with a statement Hollywood-red lip. The lipstick appeared to have a satin finish – not as muted as matte, yet not as shiny as a lip gloss: the perfect in between.
