Nestlé Announces The Return Of Yorkie HoneycombNestlé

Despite the fact we thought we couldn't eat them for years (not for girls blah blah blah), we are kinda pleased to hear that Nestlé is bringing back a long-forgotten Yorkie flavour.

After an absence of eight years, Yorkie Honeycomb is returning to stores.

Featuring solid chunks of smooth honeycomb flavour milk chocolate and crunchy pieces of sweet honeycomb, the limited edition bar is a delicious twist on the classic chunky Yorkie.

"But isn't that just a Crunchie?" I hear you ask. Well, no. The much-loved Crunchie is solid honeycomb coated in milk chocolate, whilst the Yorkie Honeycomb is honeycomb flavoured chocolate with honeycomb pieces. Duh.

“Yorkie fans are a passionate bunch, especially when it comes to honeycomb! We’ve had more requests for this bar than for any other flavour, so we’re chuffed to be bringing it back for 2023," says Michael Kehoe, Brand Executive for Nestlé Confectionery.

"It’s the creamy Yorkie milk chocolate you know and love, enlivened with honeycomb flavour and real pieces of crunchy honeycomb.”

The Yorkie named after the city which gave the bar its name (York ICYMI), was launched in 1976 by Rowntree's of York. In fact the company considered several more names, including ‘Jones’ and ‘O’Hara’ before settling on Yorkie.

66 million bars are made each year at the Nestlé factory in York alongside KitKat, Aero, Polo and Milkybar.

From 8th May the Yorkie Honeycomb bar will be available in a wide range of supermarkets, including Sainsburys, Morrisons, Co-op, B&M and Home Bargains.

But be warned... it's apparently very limited-edition, so get your hands on one whilst you can.
