Nespresso Is Launching Its First-Ever Canned Coffee
We'll be stocking our fridge with these as soon as we can.
Need a quick source of caffeine? Nespresso has a new grab-and-go coffee option that's not only convenient, but also comes with a sweet surprise.
Just in time for National Coffee Day, the brand announced its first-ever ready-to-drink canned beverage, the Nespresso Master Origins Colombia Ready to Drink Coffee, which is an expansion of the brand's new honey range that launched in August.
According to Nespresso, the ready-to-drink coffee comes sweetened with the brand’s "very own Coffee Blossom Honey, which is harvested from the same plants that go on to produce some of its coffee," making it a true full-circle moment.
“As on-the-go coffee demand continues to grow in the U.S., we saw the opportunity to reimagine how Nespresso can elevate coffee moments for today’s consumer,” Alfonso Gonzalez Loeschen, the CEO of Nespresso North America, shared in a statement provided to Food & Wine. “This ready-to-drink [option] sits at the intersection of functionality and sustainability, as a byproduct of our commitment to regenerative agriculture efforts to protect the future of coffee.”
Nespresso previously explained to Food & Wine that the honey is all thanks to Nestlé’s hub for research and innovation — the R+D Accelerator — in Lausanne, Switzerland, which helped support Nespresso’s goal of moving toward a production chain with more regenerative agriculture.

“While climate change threatens biodiversity and the livelihoods of coffee farmers, Nespresso is committed to ensuring a quality coffee crop can survive in future generations,” the company added in its press release.
As the release also noted, Nespresso is publicly committed to cutting its greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030, and is working toward net zero emissions by 2050. To further show off its commitment to a more sustainable future, the new coffee comes in an aluminum can, which is endlessly recyclable.
However, there is a major catch. The drink, like the honey, will only be available for an extremely limited time starting on October 2 through the Nespresso mobile app, Nespresso.com, and in select Nespresso Boutiques. So stock up on the cans of coffee before they're gone. (Or maybe if we all buy enough, we can convince them to make more. Just saying.)
