Neighbours has announced a fourth legendary cast member for its upcoming Farewell Tour – Ryan Moloney, who plays Toadie Rebecchi.

After 37 years on air, the soap's final ever episode airs on Channel 5 today (Friday, July 29) and will bring back some very familiar faces.

But fans in the UK will get a chance to say a proper goodbye to the soap as the Farewell Tour kicks off in Belfast next March, and visits cities including Manchester, Birmingham, Brighton, Southampton, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Cardiff, before wrapping in London.

Cast members Jackie Woodburne, Alan Fletcher, and April Rose Pengilly have already been announced for the tour, with more names to be added soon.

The soap was previously due to undertake a special one-off Live In Conversation show to mark its 35-year anniversary in 2020. This was however postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the larger-scale Farewell Tour is taking its place.

Moloney has played the role of Toadie since 1995, having first appeared on Ramsey Street in 1994 as a guest character called Cyborg.

Earlier this month Moloney explained how he went from guesting as Cyborg to playing Toadie, a character who was also only meant to be a guest role.

"I had a first day playing a character called Cyborg, I was a guest, he came in and trashed Doug Well's house that he was building," he said. "And then they rang me up after and said: 'Is your hair still the same? We want you to come in and play Toadie.'

"But Toadie was only going be there for one scene. So, I very clearly remember that one scene and hanging out kind of off set, ready to go in and do him a bit, and then it was over really quickly.

"So, it was like: 'Eh, great. Thanks for coming in. All right. Great. Well, there you go. There you go, that's your moment. See you later. Thanks.'

"So, it's pretty wild, and lucky, that I'm still here! For some reason people want to watch what I do, so happy days."

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 6pm on Channel 5 and streams on My5. The series finale will air in the UK on July 29 at 9pm on Channel 5.
