Naomi Campbell announces shes a mum for the first time, age 50
Supermodel Naomi Campbell has welcomed her first child into the world.
Taking to Instagram to announce the happy news, the 50-year-old revealed, "A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother, So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love."
The picture shows Naomi cupping her baby's feet, while her mother revealed in a caption of her own that it was a baby girl. So sweet!
"Congratulations to my daughter Naomi on the birth of her daughter, I’m beyond thrilled as I’ve waited a longtime to be grandmother. ❤️😍 @naomi," Valerie Morris-Campbell wrote.
Fans have been sharing their well-wishes in the comments. "So happy for you ❤️❤️❤️," one wrote, while another added, "No one deserves this more ❤️" a third said, "So so happy for you my friend, I knew you would be a mama some day," and another put, "Omg!! Congrats mama! Love you."
Naomi didn't share her baby’s name or when she was born, but the model has made her desire to be a mother known in the past. In 2014, she told Vogue she “definitely” wanted children no matter what her relationship status would be in the future, while she later told ES Magazine (via Independent) that she thought “about having children all the time”, adding: “But now with the way science is I think I can do it when I want.”
