Louis Vuitton names Saoirse Ronan house ambassador
Louis Vuitton announced on Tuesday that actor Saoirse Ronan is the brand's newest house ambassador. The beauty industry's many CEO changes
So far this year, the beauty industry has seen a plethora of CEO shakeups from brands such as L'Occitane Group, Avon Products Inc., Biologique Recherche, L:a Bruket, Susanne Kaufmann, Fresh and Orveon. Within the dynamic and highly competitive market, Sasha Radic, managing director at Jefferies, told WWD that sometimes a shift in leadership can help support brands as they try to align with the changing market. John Long, North America retail sector leader and senior client partner at Korn Ferry, also described 2023 and 2024 as "reset years" after the COVID-19 pandemic, wherein companies are looking for the right leadership to move their brands forward. {WWD/paywalled}

Why is Vestiaire Collective crowdfunding?
Luxury resale company Vestiaire Collective announced a crowdfunding campaign to raise at least €1 million, which turned some heads since the platform has previously raised $744 million over 12 rounds with big backers. But this move isn't really about the money, it's a marketing tactic, according to CEO Max Bittner. "This fundraiser was not even the idea of the finance department, it was the idea of the marketing department," Bittner told Business of Fashion. This move can make noise in the market and boost ties with customers ahead of Vestiaire Collective reportedly aiming for an initial public offering in 2025. {Business of Fashion/paywalled}
