My Mum, Your Dad viewers go wild for 1st episode's star and it's not Davina or contestants

After a year of waiting, My Mum, Your Dad is finally back on our screens. Presented by Davina McCall, the show sees a series of single parents arrive at a retreat in order to give love another go. However, in an unexpected twist, their children are watching their every move from nearby.

Despite the concept being rather unusual, the first series of the show proved successful. 12 months since it hit our screens, Roger Hawes and Janey Smith are still together and are as loved up as ever. But romance isn’t the only thing that's got series viewers talking - so have the song choices that have aired over certain scenes.

The show, which is focused on the middle-aged generation, played a number of 80s classics to keep in touch with the theme including Take On Me by a-ha. It caught the attention of the new viewers at home, and they flocked to social media to share their love of the choices as one person on X said: "The best thing about this show is the music they play on it #mymumyourdad".

Another tweeted: "To be expected, the music is on point I'll be downloading that playlist #MyMumYourDad @ITV @ThisisDavina Xx." A third wrote: "@ThisisDavina wow love this show so much! The people and The music is epic! More more more #MyMumYourDad".

"Loving it already! Beautiful people, kids are a credit to them & yet again the music is all b*****y brilliant #MyMumYourDad," said another. Last year, the show's social media account also got in on the music love as they asked: “Who's already had a little singalong to the show?” That tweet soon caught the attention of their fans, and it quickly brought in the likes.

The show is set in a luxurious country mansion which has a swimming pool and a tennis court, as well as several glamorous indoor areas. It is hoped that the programme will bring in the older generation of viewers as nine men and women who are in their 40s and 50s look to find the love of their life.

They have been put forward for the show by their children, but what they don't know is that their children will be watching their every move from a viewing room.

That's not the only twist, as the children will also have some say in some of the decisions that impact their parents throughout the two weeks. The children will be able to have a say in who their parents date and who they are matched with before being reunited with them at the end of the break.
