Move over Stanley tumblers — shoppers are clamoring for these insulated martini glasses for summer

We can all probably agree that the hype and near-hysteria around insulated water bottles recently has felt a little out of control. People standing in line overnight to buy a Stanely tumbler? Folks reselling them for $800? Enough is enough already, right?

Well, actually, wrong. Given how popular drinking vessels have become, it shouldn't be all that surprising that brands are getting creative. Take Orca, for instance. The outdoor recreation company sells a stainless steel martini glass that sells for $30 at Amazon and Target.

Made from double-walled vacuum-sealed stainless steel, it promises to keep beverages cold for hours. If you adore a frosty drink, consider adding ice for maximum chill factor.

Intrigued? You're not alone. Judging by the ratings at the above two retailers, hundreds of shoppers have purchased these clever insulated glasses... and they love them! The cups have 4.8 out of 5 stars at Target and 4.7 out of 5 stars at Amazon.

In case you're having a hard time wrapping your mind around spending $30 for a single glass, let me paint a picture for you. It's a warm, sunny day, the kids are playing in the pool and you're lounging in your outdoor recliner. Life is good. The only thing that might make it a bit better? A cool, refreshing adult beverage. A martini or a cosmo might be nice, but you worry about the glass shattering near the pool where people walk barefoot. And then there's the issue of the bugs getting in your drink and ugh, no one likes a warm cocktail. Enter the Orca stainless steel martini glass. It's durable enough to withstand falls without shattering, insulated so your beverage stays cold and comes with a lid to keep critters out. Sounds like $30 well spent to me.

Poolside aside, the Orca is fantastic for picnics in the park, backyard barbecues and beach days. It's obviously great for cocktails, but you can also use it for juice or seltzer to give kids a taste of using a "fancy, grown-up" cup.

Most reviewers have no regrets about splurging on the summer must-have.

"These are the coolest cups," one happy Amazon customer wrote. "They keep your martini cold. You can take it in/around the pool or on the patio with you and [you don't have to] worry about it breaking if it is dropped. The best part is the lid that makes this like an adult sippy cup. You can seal it so it doesn't spill when there is a lot of activity. [I] would buy [it] again!"

"The cup fits perfectly in your hand and the lid has an easy-to-use flip top to prevent things from flying into your drink," another fan commented.

While there's lots of high praise for the Orca martini glass, some folks see room for improvement.

"It was expensive and in the hot, hot sun the contents got warm before I could finish the drink," one Amazon shopper wrote.

This reviewer who liked the cup overall commented, "[The] only downside is it only holds 8 oz. [It] needs to be 12 oz. at least."

Yes, you need this brilliant cup for your next summer shindig. Choose from bright hues like pink, mint and seafoam, plus two neutral shades of grey.
