A mother has shared the amusing story about why her 14-year-old daughter was stealing vodka from the pantry.

Stacey, under the username @StaceyCKS, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to explain that her first instinct upon noticing that the vodka bottle had less in it than before was to confront her older children, who were 23 and 17 years old.

“Noticed that my vodka supply was dwindling,” her post on the platform began. “Confronted 23 and 17, who pointed the finger at 14, who guiltily confessed to making penne allá vodka ‘several times’ over the last month. Didn’t believe her, watched her execute it flawlessly. I guess it’s a TikTok thing?”

The mother-of-three continued, noting that she did try her daughter’s pasta and loved it. “It’s really good, too. She crushed it,” she added underneath her post.

However, with the post receiving over 16.9 million views, the mother then revealed that her daughter wanted to clarify one piece of information.

“She wants it known that she didn’t ‘guiltily confess’ to anything. ‘I just answered the question,’” another follow-up post read. “Sorrrrrry. My bad.”

Stacey even jokingly pointed out that her daughter used a more “high-end” bottle of vodka for her recipe instead of a cheaper brand that was also available to her. “She was using the Grey Goose, not the Smirnoff someone left at our house because ‘that one was open.’ Yeah, because it’s the GOOD stuff,” the mother wrote.

After posting, many people turned to the comments section to ask the parent various questions about how no one noticed her youngest child making a pasta dish with alcohol. “Wait? Your 14 year old cooked a pasta dinner and nobody noticed? Was it on a Coleman stove out back or do you live in a mansion with guest kitchens or something?” one commenter asked.

“I have three of them, and she’s the youngest. They make regular snacks for themselves when they get home from school while I’m in my office,” the mother replied in a comment. “There’s always someone cooking something at my house. I have stopped investigating unless the smoke alarm goes off.”

“I’m more surprised that you didn’t notice all of the ingredients for pasta dishes going quickly,” another commenter questioned.

The mother replied, explaining that they order their groceries through an app and she allows her children to add what they need.

“Someone else mentioned that. We have our groceries delivered, and the kids just add what they want on the app. I don’t pay much attention before putting in the order. I’ll just scroll through and make sure it’s nothing egregious. I wouldn’t look twice at cream or cheese or pasta,” she wrote.

Other commenters joked about how her daughter could have been using the bottle for something else but this was not a bad situation to be in. “This is the best possible outcome for this scenario,” one person wrote in the comments.

“She said ‘I honestly thought you’d be more mad about me using all of the San Marzano tomatoes,’” the mother replied. “And you know what? She was right. I had plans for those.”
