The most spectacular jewellery on the Met Gala red carpet
The first Monday in May is always one of the most exciting nights on the celebrity calendar as the world's biggest stars descend on New York City for the Met Gala – and the fashion at this year's ball, the theme of which centred around designer Karl Lagerfeld, did not disappoint.
We saw some excellent vintage moments, some great recreations of Lagerfeld's most iconic designs, and also witnessed fellow designers and rival fashion houses putting their own spin on Lagerfeld's aesthetic. It was a great night for fashion, and it also allowed for some particularly spectacular moments in the jewellery department.

The Met Gala is the ultimate opportunity to make a statement with your jewellery, and this is exactly what Priyanka Chopra Jonas did. The actress wore a striking necklace by Bulgari, one which featured the Bulgari Laguna Blu diamond, a gemstone like no other, estimated to be worth over $25 million. It will be the most valuable Bulgari gem to ever be offered for sale when it hits auction later this month, and it was the perfect accompaniment to her Valentino gown we're sure you'll agree.

Actress and director Michaela Coel had a particularly dazzling ensemble; she wore a bejewelled gown by Schiaparelli which she accessorised with a pair of statement earrings, two rings and a headpiece by designer Emefa Cole. The pieces were created using single mined origin gold that was ethically sourced from West Africa, and were created especially for the occasion.

Model Lily Aldridge was dripping in diamonds for the 2023 Met Gala, accessorising her Oscar de la Renta ballgown with an emerald-cut necklace, baguette huggies and a baguette ring, all by Bucherer.
It was all drama for Rihanna when it came to accessorising. The singer chose a number of statement necklaces and earrings from Bulgari all of which perfectly complemented her floral-themed ensemble.

Lily Collins paired her Vera Wang ensemble with some seriously statement pieces from Cartier. The actress wore a platinum, onyx and diamond choker from the brand, along with matching earrings and several rings.

Model Gigi Hadid added even more drama to her Givenchy look by wearing a Smiling Rocks high jewellery necklace, a one-of-a-kind haute couture creation that used lab grown diamonds, was set in white gold, and was finished with pearls.

Michelle Yeoh was the picture of elegance in her tuxedo-inspired ballgown, which she paired with a statement necklace and matching earrings from Cartier, and a white gold, diamond ring.

Daisy Edgar-Jones was a vision in Gucci, and chose to keep her jewellery fairly minimal to let her statement dress do the talking. The actress simply wore a pair of firework stud earrings by Bucherer and a ring.

Nicole Kidman had one of the best outfits of the night, rewearing a dress that first wore in a Chanel No. 5 advert, and she teamed it with a pair of Harry Winston cluster diamond chandelier earrings and a sparkling cluster diamond ring, both of which were set in platinum.
