This was the most searched-for London hotel of 2024
The data crunchers at travel booking site Hotels.com have been busy working out the most searched-for hotels by British travellers. They’ve revealed that the top 10 hotels are all in London, but the next most popular cities Brits are searching for are Manchester and Edinburgh.
So, which London hotel was the most coveted by travellers searching on Hotels.com?
You may not be surprised that Park Plaza Westminster Bridge clinched the top spot. This large South Bank hotel works for so many reasons – it’s family-friendly, pet-friendly and it has a pampering spa.
Park Plaza Westminster Bridge is also one of the best London hotels with a view – you can see the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben from the Ichi Sushi & Sashimi Bar and some guestrooms and suites. Naturally the Presidential Suite has the very best view.
Crucially, Park Plaza Westminster Bridge has a swimming pool (something of a rarity in London, as are London hotels with hot tubs), which Hotels.com has revealed is the top searched-for amenity, knocking high-speed internet off the number one spot. Aside from the pool, spa, and four restaurants, we also love that there are pampering ESPA products in the bathrooms at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge.
Budget-friendly London hotels dominate the top 10 list – notably those that bring a stylish oomph to their offering, like Yotel London City, citizenM London Victoria and hipster hangout The Hoxton Shepherd's Bush.
Zedwell Picadilly Circus also comes in at number 10, which, despite its super central location, is actually a hotel that prioritises sleep and wellness with simple rooms designed to be clutter-free and completely quiet, with no TVs or distractions. Even the water temperature for the rain shower is pre-set to be optimal.
A couple of our favourite luxury London hotels also make the cut, including Sea Containers and The Mayfair Townhouse, although we're surprised to see some of the latest openings like Mandarin Oriental Mayfair didn't make the shortlist.
The story is a little different in Edinburgh, with two of the newest city hotel openings attracting the most searches. W Edinburgh and Virgin Hotels Edinburgh both feature on the list.
