Morrisons makes major change to over 100 products to price-match Aldi and Lidl
Morrisons is helping shoppers to stretch their budgets in 2025 by extending its Aldi and Lidl Price Match Campaign. With spending a concern for many during the post-Christmas period, doing the weekly shop for essentials and groceries can be an added expense.
That's why Morrisons kicked off this year with big savings for its customers. On January 1, the supermarket added 100 more popular items to its scheme that matches prices to its budget German rivals.
Available online and in store, new additions include staples such as olive oil, coffee, eggs, pasta sauce and bananas. Morrisons' Aldi and Lidl Price Match Campaign first launched in 2024 in a bid to help customers keep costs low amidst the soaring Cost of Living Crisis.

Signage in stores and online makes it easier for customers to find those included in the scheme. It initially debuted with 200 products that many of us buy in the weekly shop such as corn flakes, baby wipes, bread, anti-bac spray, bleach, and toilet rolls. The latest 100 additions means that the scheme now covers over 500 products overall.
Gareth Lloyd, Head of Price at Morrisons, said: "We’re starting 2025 by doubling down on value for our customers. Expanding our Price Match means more of the essentials and brands customers love at the prices they expect, with the quality they trust from Morrisons.
"This builds on the savings and rewards we’ve introduced throughout the year – from price cuts to better deals for our More Card members. It’s all about helping shoppers get more for their money."
Morrisons has advised that it checks its price match campaign every two weeks to ensure shoppers are getting the best value for money. While products included can be found online, in store and via click & collect, they are not available via Deliveroo or Amazon.
Morrisons is not the only supermarket helping shoppers to save money in the New Year. Asda also entered the 2025 price war by slashing the cost of more than 2,500 products shoppers buy week in, week out.
The supermarket giant's major Big January Price Drop also launched on January 1, with up to 26 percent reduced across groceries and household essentials. Available in store and online, the initiative will roll out new savings throughout the rest of the month.
