This Morning's Holly Willoughby drops out of Monday's show
Holly Willoughby dropped out of This Morning on Monday (22 June), with Davina McCall stepping in.
Monday's episode of the daytime TV show opened with Davina sitting alongside Phillip Schofield, and Holly's absence was addressed straight away.
"Holly is taking her children to school today," Phillip explained. "They're all going back, and it's a sort of staggered affair. And so it's quite complicated.
"I would imagine probably... Houses up and down the country [have] quite high emotion, but yeah, she's taking the kids to school. And she should."
Phillip and Davina then acknowledged that they've never presented together on the show before.
"I'm very nervous, but I'll just follow you," Davina told Phillip. "You know what you're doing. You've done it before. It's all okay."
"Anyone who watches this regularly might disagree with that!" Phillip joked in response.
In a recent interview with Red, Holly opened up about her experiences with dyslexia and explained that it held her back at school.
"At school, reading out loud absolutely terrified me because I'd get all the words wrong and I was convinced everybody thought I was stupid," she said.
"It still happens now – most of the mistakes I make on This Morning are because of it, but it doesn't do what it did to me back then because I don’t let it have power."
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
