This Morning presenter Alison Hammond was reduced to fits of giggles while Welsh singer Charlotte Church attempted to give her a sound bath on the show. Charlotte appeared on This Morning to give Alison and her co-presenter Dermot O'Leary a sound bath, but it did not go well.

After instructing Dermot and Alison to lie down Charlotte began the sound bath, an experience where you totally immerse yourself in sound and are bathed in sound waves, as a meditative experience. Charlotte has her own retreat in Wales where she offers well being exercises, including a sound bath. You can read our review of the retreat here.

At first, Charlotte, who was joined by her husband Jonathan Powell who was also playing musical instruments, began playing an instrument before beginning to sing. Not singing words Charlotte harmonised along with the music and as soon as she started singing Alison couldn't contain her giggles.

In a desperate attempt to keep her laughter under control, Alison put her hand over her mouth and pinched her nose. For the latest TV & Showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter.

This did not help and Alison remained in fits of laughter for the whole sound bath, while Dermot was able to keep a straight face. Afterwards, Alison apologised saying "I'm so sorry... I feel like I was being rude" before adding: "What was really throwing me was you singing".

Alison went on to explain she wasn't expecting Charlotte to sing, which prompted the laughter. Many fans enjoyed watching Alison struggle to remain composed, one said: "Sometimes, the more you know that you shouldn't laugh, the funnier it is. And I agree with Alison, the wailing from Charlotte Church distracted from the relaxing sounds #thismorning."

Another added: "Watching @AlisonHammond trying not to laugh during the sound bath article whilst Charlotte church is singing has made me laugh a lot this morning I needed that! This would so be me #ThisMorning @thismorning." A third said: "Alison Hammond absolutely wetting herself laughing at Charlotte church’s sound bath absolutely hilarious!! #itvthismorning."
