This Morning presenter Alison Hammond has confirmed she’s soon set to launch a new project – and it’s something she’s never done before.
The ITV star is venturing into the world of fiction as she’s announced her novel, Bombshell.
While Hammond has released a memoir before, Bombshell is her first fiction publication and it’s a romantic comedy.
Announcing the news on Instagram today (July 31), Hammond unveiled the cover of the new book.
"Exciting news!! My new book 'Bombshell' is out Nov 7th," she wrote. "It’s my first novel and I’m really excited for you to read it.
"More details to come but a massive shout out to @iamlisabent couldn’t have done it without you and not forgetting @beccabarrmanagement @penguinukbooks and me."
Though the book isn't set to launch for a few months, it is currently available to pre-order from Amazon and WHSmith, with an audiobook version also up for grabs.
Sharing further details on her Instagram Story, Hammond addressed her followers in a video.
"Hi everyone, I’ve got some fantastic news for you," the Bake Off presenter enthused. "I’ve got a new book coming out. Yes! It’s coming out this November, in the autumn. It’s absolutely brilliant."
Teasing details of the plot, Hammond continued: "My character is called Madison and she’s married to a TV heartthrob husband who is absolutely gorgeous.
"Anyway, he lands this massive bombshell onto Madison that kind of flips her life upside down.
"She’s given so much up for her kids, her career, it’s time to reclaim her own worth. I’m not going to tell you anymore but it’s brilliant."
Several of Hammond’s ITV co-stars rushed to the comment section to congratulate her on the exciting new project.
"About time!" This Morning’s Dermot O’Leary wrote, with Abi Ann Davis adding: "This is so exciting! Love the cover."
"Oooh preordering from NOW!" I’m A Celeb’s Scarlette Douglas remarked.
