Good Morning America host Will Reeves - who was the first person to interview Prince Harry following his dad, the King's, cancer diagnosis - has proposed to his long-term girlfriend. The presenter, who is also the son of Superman actor Christopher Reeve, posted a carousel of his proposal to his event planner girlfriend Amanda Dubin, captioning them with a simple "Us".

The photos show Will getting down on one knee in a large white room decorated with flowers and candles, followed by what looked like a surprise engagement party for the happy couple. Both Will and Amanda, who went public with their romance early last year, were dressed for the occasion, with the former wearing a smart navy suit with unbuttoned white shirt, and Amanda dressed in a stylish brown three-piece long skirt, vest top and blazer.

Comments flooded in for the newly-engaged duo, many of them from Will's colleagues from the world of American telly. ABC News' national correspondent Erielle Reshef wrote: "Beyond excited for you two! Beautiful couple", while author and ABS News 20/20 co-host Deborah Roberts added a simple "Whoop".

Will, whose actor dad dies when he was just 11, has been a familiar face on American news for many years, and worked across the likes of Good Morning America, World News Tonight with David Muir, and Nightline. His dad, who played Superman between 1978 and 1987, had been left paralyzed from the neck down after being thrown from a horse during a riding competition in 1995.

Speaking previously about their relationship when he was alive, Will said: "We shared a very deep bond in general, but sports was definitely a major component of our family bond. If it involved a ball or a stick or a racket or a bat or a puck, we were either watching it or playing it or talking about it together."

Will also hit the headlines earlier this year when he interviewed usually media-shy Prince Harry following King Charles's announcement that he had cancer.

In the interview that aired on February 16, Prince Harry discussed his dad's health and their relationship, as well as his life in America with wife Meghan Markle, and also offered a rare update on Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

On Charles, he said: "I jumped on a plane and went to go see him as soon as I could. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see [my father] and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for this."

When Will asked if the diagnosis might have a "reunifying" effect on the family, Harry responded with some hopeful words, saying: "Yeah, I’m sure. Throughout all these families, I see it on a day-to-day basis, the strength of the family unit coming together. I think any illness, any sickness, brings families together.”
