Fern Britton is reportedly in talks to make a sensational comeback to This Morning.

After a recent guest appearance, the 66 year old TV presenting icon, who left This Morning in 2009, revealed that show producers have invited her back for some filming. She recently revealed the 'real reason' why she originally decided to quit after an 'incident' with co-host Phillip Schofield.

Speaking to Woman and Home, she shared: "When my interview finished and I left the studio, I was approached by a production team [member] who said, 'Would you like to do some little films with us? "

While the conversation is still ongoing, Fern seems open to the idea of returning for short segments. She expressed her interest in conducting interviews, particularly with politicians, regardless of their party affiliations.

She stated: "I don't mind what party they're up for, as long as they're speaking truly to the country to understand what's going on in the world, what a [mess] leaving Europe was and how they're desperately trying to cover up the terrible things that are happening because of that."

Having presented the show from 1999 to 2009, Fern also voiced her support for new hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, saying: "Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard very much get my vote."

Fern had exclusively told OK! back in 2020 how she felt she was treated "pretty poorly" during her time presenting the show, despite loving the experience.

In the same interview, Fern opened up about the end of her marriage to TV chef Phil Vickery, emphasising that their main focus remains their 22 year old daughter Winnie.

She admitted: "It's not ideal that our marriage didn't work, but... now, in general, there's no hurt. Winnie wants to see us both happy and settled."
