This Morning runs competition to pay a viewer's energy bills

The ITV daytime show This Morning has received criticism after hosting a competition in which viewers can win having their energy bills paid.

PHILLIP SCHOFIELD: So we've got-- we've got we'll pay your energy bills. We've got 1,000 pounds as well. So this is energy bills I think for four months if it stops on that.

PHILLIP SCHOFIELD: So how are your-- how are your energy bills? Are you a bit worried about it all?

- Oh, major.

HOLLY WILLOUGBY: Yeah.

PHILLIP SCHOFIELD: Are ya?

- I've got-- I've got one of these pre-payment meters and it's absolutely murder.

HOLLY WILLOUGBY: Oh god.

PHILLIP SCHOFIELD: Right, well let's hope it lands on one of those then.

HOLLY WILLOUGBY: Whatever, you're going to win some money, so don't worry. Here we go.

HOLLY WILLOUGBY: Ooh, it's slowing down.

PHILLIP SCHOFIELD: 1,000 pounds or energy bill. 1,000 pounds or energy bill. It is going to be-- it's your energy bill!

- Oh my god, thank you.

PHILLIP SCHOFIELD: We're paying your energy bill for four months.

- Oh, fantastic.

PHILLIP SCHOFIELD: No worries.
