This Morning interrupted as Martin Lewis makes show announcement

This Morning was interrupted on Tuesday (11 February) as Martin Lewis made a big announcement.

The financial journalist appeared on the ITV show to discuss the latest ways to save money and avoid debt with hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard.

As Martin's segment began, Cat introduced him to TV viewers, revealing he was set to talk about credit scores on the show. However, Ben and Cat interrupted the segment before it could begin so Martin could make an announcement about his own ITV show, The Martin Lewis Money Show, ahead of the next episode airing this week.

Ben revealed Martin had a special edition of his ITV show coming up in aid of Valentine's Day, prompting him and Cat to tease Martin about his lack of enthusiasm for the occasion.

"Valentine's is a wonderful celebration for card shops and chocolate sellers. It's not that romantic, most people would rather get rid of it when I do polling on it," Martin joked.

Ben then made a quip about Martin's wife, Lara Lewington. The TV star joked that Lara had been looking forward to Martin "spoiling her" on Valentine's Day and had said so when she visited the ITV studio recently.

Ben, Cat, and Martin laughed as Martin insisted it would "never happen" due to his views on celebrating Valentine's Day.

Martin then continued with his announcement and explained: "It's actually a very important show. I'm going to be going through the nine benefits of marriage." He also informed TV viewers that his ITV show would air on Thursday rather than its usual Tuesday evening slot this week.

Martin's ITV show is back on TV screens on Thursday, 13 February, at 8p.m. The 60-minute show will feature him giving advice about marriage and the financial aspects of getting hitched.

The popular TV show, which is filmed live, airs weekly on ITV and is now in its 14th series. The latest series kicked off in January, with Martin fronting shows about debt, bills, and tax so far.

This Morning airs on weekdays on ITV1 from 10am
