It seems like almost every holiday rom-com I’m watching right now features travel. From classics like The Holiday to newer favorites like A Christmas Prince, nothing is more romanticized than travel. That, combined with the fact that I’ve been a fashion editor for seven years, is why I refuse to compromise comfort for style when I travel. Since I have family in Canada, Italy, India, and Australia, international travel has always been a key part of my life.
As such, over the past several decades, my very stylish mom and I have curated a collection of wrinkle-free pants for flights that are stylish and functional. Sure, we’ve got a pair of leggings and joggers in the mix, but nothing makes you stand out abroad faster than wearing athleisure, which is why silky tie-waist pants from Ralph Lauren, surprisingly stretchy, flight-friendly Good American jeans, and lightweight Lululemon pants are always in the rotation.

The Drop Amalia Relaxed Pleated Trousers
If you’re in the market for an elegant option or are planning on attending more formal occasions on your trip, The Drop’s Amalia Relaxed Pleated Trousers are the comfort-forward option I wear when I’m going for a sophisticated look. With a stretchy waistband at the back, this breathable, machine-washable option is made with a pleated front and ankle-length shape that keeps seams away from less-than-ideal airplane bathroom conditions.
Good American Good Legs Flare Jeans
Good American’s flared jeans are as sexy as they are comfortable, which is why my mom and I both love them—and have often found ourselves twinning in airports while wearing them. I know it might sound crazy to wear jeans on a flight, but made with a stretchy cotton-blend fabric, these feel just like wearing my favorite yoga pants, but the flared leg and high waist have a brilliant way of highlighting our curves. They look great with loafers and a chunky turtleneck sweater on flights, but I love pairing them with a lacey top or fitted bodysuit for formal occasions once I get to my destination.
Lululemon City Sleek Utilitech Wide-Leg Pants
While the assumption may be that Lululemon is only offering up activewear and loungewear, this option is proof that’s not the case. While these have the same four-way stretch and sweat-wicking fabric you’ve come to love from the brand, the structured shape offers a more upscale look. These work in any weather, too. I have them in beige and black, and I’ve worn them on both beach and ski trips alike.
No matter what your style, you’ll find a pair of wrinkle-free pants for your most stylish and comfortable travels yet. Keep scrolling to check out more of my (and my mother’s!) favorites from Amazon and Nordstrom.
