Molly Mae Hague has opened up on the circumstances of her split from Tommy Fury. The pair announced their split in August after five years together. The pair, who met on Love Island, got engaged last year and share daughter Bambi together. Announcing the news via Instagram, Molly-Mae didn't reveal the reason behind their parting - but did share that she never thought their relationship would end, 'especially not this way'.

Now, in an interview with British Vogue, Molly has opened up on the circumstances of her and Tommy’s split. She said: "Yeah. I mean. It was a bit of a shock. The circumstances… I didn’t want what happened to happen. I wanted to get married to Tommy, one hundred per cent, and that would never have changed. I wanted to get married next September and it’s very hard when it’s kind of taken away. But I will always have a lot of love and respect for him.”

The 25 year old, who recently admitted she has been grappling with daughter Bambi's new clingy attitude towards herself and Tommy since the split, also opened up on how the pair are keeping a lid on the details of their split for their daughter’s sake.

“No one will ever really know what went down apart from Tommy and I,” she says. “And that’s how we’d like to keep it, for Bambi’s sake. I do think that he will talk about things eventually. I do think that when he’s ready, like, maybe more will be said. But I think that’s for him to do on his terms. It’s not like it’s gossip, it’s real life and it’s, you know, it’s a really deep situation. It’s really sad.”

Recently, Tommy broke his silence on the split in an appearance on Loose Women. When host Ruth Langsford quizzed him about his split, acknowledging Tommy's decision not to detail the split in his book: "You haven't written about it in your book, because they delayed the publication of the book for you to write this last chapter. And you've said you don't want to go into detail about it, but how are the two of you doing? And you're obviously co-parenting Bambi and it's a tricky time."

Tommy responded: "Everyone is entitled to a private life and me and Molly, we got together when we was very young. And we just think, going forward, everything should be private now because everyone is entitled to that and that's what I want. Not only for me but for Bambi as well, for her sake."
