Talk about multitasking: a model has taken to the catwalk while breastfeeding her five-month-old daughter.

Mara Martin took to the runway on Sunday night for the 2018 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit show.

The new mum was one of 16 finalists chosen to take part in the catwalk show as part of PARAISO Fashion Fair.

Wearing a stunning one-shouldered gold bikini and carrying her baby daughter in one arm, the model beamed as she strutted her stuff on the runway at the W Hotel, South Beach.

Ahead of the show, Martin explained on Instagram how thrilled she was about being chosen as one of finalists and how much she was looking forward to hitting the catwalk.

Sharing a sweet snapshot of her holding her daughter, she wrote:

“The face you make when your mom makes it to the final 16 of the @si_swimsuit Swim Search!!”

“I’m so so so thankful for the entire team at sports illustrated for picking me! @mj_day (and team)… you guys are THE FREAKING BEST! And to EVERY girl that casted from the online submissions to the open call.. you all rock. My fellow girls in the final 16.. LETS DO THIS!!! Congratulations to every single one of you!!!!”

Sports Illustrated also shared a video of Mara and her baby rocking the runway.

“GIRL POWER! #SISwimSearch Sweet 16 finalist Mara walks the runway while breastfeeding her five-month-old baby,” they captioned the video.

And fans were quick to show their appreciation.

“This is exactly what life is about,” one user wrote. “Keeping it real, showing love & affection to your children outside of the home sets an example as to how to raise your children. Too many people in society worry about trying to be cool vs being real. This is a true working mom on the go!”

“Amazing! You go momma! I absolutely love this, well done for normalising breastfeeding,” another agreed.

“Thank you for #normalisebreastfeeding best of luck In your future career path,” a third fan commented.

Mara wasn’t the only model flying the flag for diversity on the Sports Illustrated catwalk.

Paralympic snowboarder Brenna Huckaby also took to the runway to lead the final walk for the 2018 show.

Earlier this year, the 22-year-old made history by becoming the first Paralympian to star in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit issue.

The world championship gold medallist had her right leg amputated in 2010 after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Osteocarcoma, is a type of cancer that develops in bone.

Brenna’s right leg was amputated after complications with medication and chemotherapy.

It isn’t the first time a model has appeared on the catwalk while breastfeeding her baby.

Back in 2016 Diandra Forrest made headlines as she took to the runway at New York Fashion Week holding her seven-week-old daughter, Rain in a way that made people assume she was nursing.
