Miranda Hart has shocked the nation by revealing she has gotten married in secret - and now, she has revealed more about her previously top secret spouse. The TV comedy star, 51, shocked fans by announcing her private wedding on The One Show yesterday, saying: "Someone's put a ring on it!”
She revealed to the BBC’s show’s hosts Alex Jones and Alex Scott: “I'm married, I got married at 51 and it's just so lovely! I'd written Gary for onscreen Miranda and it wasn't until I was 49 that I met my person.”

The Call The Midwife star announced in the shock reveal that she had been married within the last ten months, and said that she’d like fans to also find hope in their love story, saying : “'The fact that I met someone during a pandemic, during chronic illness, when I couldn't get out of bed or out of the house... I really, really wanted to meet someone, I didn't want to do life on my own anymore.”
She added: “'The fact that I could meet somebody, it's not some sort of romcom story but it's hope. Whatever situation you are in, there is always hope, things really do change.'
So, who is Miranda Hart’s new husband?
The star has revealed details of him in her new memoir, titled I Haven't Been Entirely Honest With You. Though she is keeping the exact identity of her mystery husband under wraps, Miranda has revealed that he works as a building surveyor, and, he was actually the surveyor who worked on her house when she lost her house to mould in recent years.
She has also teased readers with clues to his identity in her new book, including his "salt and pepper grey hair" and "fine features,” and sharing that he’s her “best friend”.
The Mail reports that she writes: "I met my best friend and the love of my life who brings me more silliness, laughter, joy, support, care and safety than I thought possible in a person, because I lost my house due to mould illness and he was the building surveyor on the house remediation project.”
Miranda has also revealed her unusual pet names for her mysterious hubby. In the new book, she writes: "Yes my love was Mr Mould Man/ My Mr Mould Man/ The Boy/ The Boy from Bristol/ The Boyfriend. I haven't been entirely honest with you, he's not my boyfriend, he's my husband. We got married when I was 51."
After her shock announcement, she even took to Instagram to share a first glimpse of her new husband in a loved up video.
