Miley Cyrus appears to channel her godmother Dolly Parton as she appears on the cover of Forbes as part of their 30 Under 30 List.

When it comes to blonde bombshells, Dolly Parton is the ultimate icon, it's little surprise therefore that Cyrus, 29, wanted to give a nod to her godmother's legendary look in a glam new shoot for the publication to celebrate making the cut for Forbes' annual 30 Under 30 List.

In images to mark the achievement, Cyrus appears wearing a silver, sequin top and straight-legged trousers, but it was her hair that really gave the 80s/Parton vibes.

The star had her voluminous waves styled into an ’80s-inspired do, which seemed to mimic the look of her legendary godmother.

In another image from the shoot, the star kept her hair in tight waves while donning a one shoulder top with see through stripes.

The 80-inspired shoot marked the singer's appearance in Forbes' annual 30 Under 30 List, in which she has been selected in the last year of her twenties.

Posting a behind the scenes video of the glamorous shoot to twitter, the Wrecking Ball singer also shared her gratitude at the selection.

“FORBES 30 UNDER 30,” she wrote. “I turned 29 last week. It was now or never. Thank you for the honour. @Forbes @happyhippiefdn @gucci."

In the video the star explained that “songwriting is the greatest joy” that she has “in her life”.

“It’s my favourite element of what I do," she continued. "Taking it in and being grateful every day for the fact that I write songs for a living because a lot of people write songs and it doesn’t get to be what keeps their lights on and for me to be able to be one of those people, I never forget how lucky I am,” the artist said.

Cyrus went on: “With anything, distance makes the heart grow fonder so having that distance from my fans for the longest I’ve ever had since I was 12 years old, almost two years separated from me and my audience, the pandemic kind of reignited and just lit that spark again for me, the gratitude that I have to be a live musician, first.”

In addition to being selected to be a part of this year’s list, Cyrus also served as a judge for selecting this year’s other honourees, which include Olivia Rodrigo, Willow Smith, Tinashe, Don Toliver and Remi Wolf.

Cyrus was previously selected to be a part of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 in 2014, but has been invited back for 2021 due to having six albums chart within the top five on the Billboard 200 over the years and her other recent achievements, including launching feminine product company Hers and her Happy Hippie Foundation (which supports LGBTQ+ and at-risk youth).

It isn't the first time Cyrus has appeared to channel her famous godmother.

In an Instagram post shared earlier this year, the star showcased her hair styled into large and bouncy curls which lead to many people commenting about the resemblance between the godmother/daughter duo.

Cyrus and Parton's close relationship (Cyrus refers to her as 'Aunt Dolly') stems from a long-lasting friendship with the pop star's dad, fellow musician Billy Ray Cyrus.

Back in 2019 Cyrus teamed up with Shawn Mendes for the MusiCares Person of the Year gala (which was held in honour of Parton) to sing Parton and Kenny Roger's 1983 song Islands in the Stream.

Before the event, Miley even posted a sweet photo of her and her godmother on Instagram with the caption, "It's YOUR night Aunt @dollyparton! Beyond deserved!"

Just as Cyrus always supports the music legend, Parton seems to have her god daughter's back too.

When the singer faced criticism for her provocative outfits and performances back in 2013, Parton said her god daughter was smarter than people believed and needed a chance to find her own way, just as she herself had.

"She's just trying to find her own place and wings and learn to fly," she told Evening Standard.

Whether it is channeling her 'aunt's' looks or paying tribute to her music, this is one special relationship we love to see.

Cyrus has been experimenting with her hair recently. As well as her most recent 80s curls, the queen of transformation has also embraced a more rocky look sampling everything from a platinum blonde mullet, to a shorter spikier and a shaggy lob (long bob).

While she manages to pull off all the various styles, personally we think the Parton inspired 80s curls should become her signature look.
