This might be the most luxurious aesthetics clinic in London

Is this London's most luxurious aesthetics clinic?Montrose

Dropping myself in to a plump sofa, I closed my eyes and lost myself in the soothing noise of the crackling wood fire beside me, relishing how its wild warmth gently soothed my skin, which had just taken a battering by the chilly December weather outside.

With every deep breath I took, I felt my muscles loosen and my shoulders start to drop, the stresses of the day (and life in general) evaporating. After just a few minutes, I felt a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of London life - which is quite amazing considering I was just a few metres away from one of the city's busiest Tube stations.

I was sitting in the waiting room of Montrose London, a new aesthetics clinic a stone's throw from Sloane Square in the heart of Belgravia. Hidden away in its own gated courtyard, the clinic promises peace and privacy along with its menu of cutting edge skin and body treatments, including some cosmetic surgery.

While Montrose's treatment list offers the very best in modern treatments and tweakments - think the latest medical grade non-invasive procedures such as Morpheus8, Clear+Brilliant laser, and Thermage - I loved how the waiting room honoured the three-storey building's original design. The opulent double fronted sitting room celebrates period features from when the building was originally constructed in the 1820s, including the fireplace and floor to ceiling columns. At the back of the room, hand painted wallpaper in hues of blues and gold.

The other thing that really struck me about Montrose is its serious medical credentials. These days, horror stories of botched micro-needling, lop sided lip fillers and anti-wrinkle injections gone awry are increasingly common, and often they come about from people trusting under - or even un - qualified practitioners.

But you won't find anyone like that here. Montrose was founded by Dr. Georgina Williams, an NHS Plastic Surgeon and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. She specialises in facial and breast reconstruction for cancer survivors, and is a Consultant at Charing Cross and St Mary’s Hospitals. When she's not in her scrubs, she's kept busy by a loyal client base who come to her for fillers and other non-surgical facial tweakments.

I went to visit Dr. Georgie at the clinic, and she told me that Montrose as it is now came about after her property developer husband found an incredible location that could offer so much more than just injectables.

She said: 'Myself and some colleagues wanted to set up a place where we could offer injectables led by experts with a background in plastic surgery. But after my husband, who is also a property developer and MD of the clinic, found this location in 19 W Eaton Place, we realised we could offer so much more than that.

'Originally we thought we would just have a couple of rooms, but now we can offer in-house dermatology consultants, and aestheticians. Montrose is a hub where you can have everything done, from your beauty treatments to your moles mapped and removed, to facial fillers and anti-wrinkle injections and facials, all in a setting which is ultra luxurious and makes you feel at home and comfortable.'

Working alongside her are co-founders Dr Shaimaa Jamshidi (a plastic and reconstructive surgeon), and Dr Jonathan Dunne (a consultant plastic and reconstructive surgeon), plus three consultant dermatologists, and a team of nurses.

The team's varied experience and specialisms mean that one of the medical services Montrose offers is full body mole mapping, which assesses moles across the entirety of the skin's surface. Aimed at those who have had significant sun exposure through their work, lifestyle or location, lots of moles, or have had moles removed in the past, the results allow experts to identify and diagnose skin cancer, and put in place a comprehensive in-clinic treatment plan.
