Aside from her role as a rival spy in Prime Video's Mr and Mrs Smith series – a must-watch remake of the iconic Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie film, with season two conversations already taking place – it's been a minute since we've seen or heard from Michaela Coel. So imagine our excitement at waking up to the news she graced the 2024 GQ Creativity Awards, held last night [Thursday 11 April] in New York, with her attendance.

Especially given her outfit for the occasion was an absolute style slay. Michaela arrived on the purple carpet wearing a custom Palmwine Icecream skirt suit. Her ensemble consisted of a halterneck leather bra top and a coordinating midi wrap skirt decorated with gold metal detailing. Leather over-elbow opera gloves added to the vampish feel of the 'fit that was finished with sheer black tights and black leather pumps.

For her accessories, Michaela carried a pony hair top handle bag with intricate gold statement chandelier earrings her only jewellery. As for her beauty look, her braided hair was pulled into a low bun and she added a slash of eyeliner to her otherwise natural makeup.

Given her role as co-host of last year's Met Gala, the most prestigious fashion event in the calendar, it should be no surprise Michaela has her finger on the fashion pulse and chose to champion up-and-coming independent brand Palmwine Icecream. Founded by Kusi Kubi in 2019, the designer's creations effortlessly blend a London fashion aesthetic and the vibrant markets of Accra, Ghana. Prioritising sustainability, collections using discarded garments and materials under the brand's philosophy of "reconstruct, re-use and reduce".

Overall, the look was serving business sleaze, something we are *so* here for. Yep, there are simply not enough fire emojis. More Michaela Coel, please!
