Michael Strahan to Launch Custom Suit Platform

Count Michael Strahan as the latest addition to the custom clothing world.

The brand created by Pro Football Hall of Famer and entrepreneur in 2015 has launched the Michael Strahan Design Lab, an online way for men to personalize their tailored clothing.

In partnership with Custom Wrkshop, a technology platform for customized apparel, the Michael Strahan Design Lab uses off-the-rack sizing and allows customers to select details specific to their personal taste. That includes patterns and linings, fit, lapels, thread color, monogramming and other special tweaks.

The Design Lab will be able to ship suits within two weeks.

While other online custom clothing companies use specific algorithms to measure each customer, the decision to use standard sizing was made to “keep it familiar to the consumer,” said Koral Chen, senior vice president of development and licensing for SMAC Entertainment, a talent management, branding, music and production company co-founded by Constance Schwartz-Morini and Strahan.

This also allows the pricing to remain “super competitive,” Chen said. The Design Lab offers two-piece suits for $399, three-piece suits for $499, sport coats for $299, vests for $149 and dress pants for $149, prices that include shipping. The personalized items are sent to the customers within two weeks.

“Our mission has always been to make great style accessible and confidence part of your routine,” Strahan said. “This new platform takes that vision even further. With the Michael Strahan Design Lab, we’re giving people the power to design a suit that fits their unique style and personality, all while delivering the same level of quality and comfort I demand in my own wardrobe.”

Schwartz-Morini added: “Ten years ago, we set out to create an affordable and stylish men’s tailored clothing line that would inspire confidence for men everywhere. As we expanded to more than 50 categories, we remained committed to quality, great style and affordability. Now, by combining Custom Wrkshop’s cutting-edge technology, and going back to our roots with suits, we’re making the experience of buying a made-to-order suit more accessible. The Michael Strahan Design Lab represents a new chapter in our journey. We couldn’t be more excited to see it come to life through the eyes of our customers.”

This is not Strahan’s first move into customized clothing. In 2023, he launched  a made-to-measure tailored clothing collection with Men’s Wearhouse that retailed beginning at under $400. That collection is no longer offered, but the retailer continues to carry his line.

The Collection by Michael Strahan is also carried at JCPenney, a longtime partner of the brand.

Chen stressed that Strahan’s collections will continue to be wholesaled at those retailers as well as others such as Dick’s Sporting Goods and Fanatics, which offer his more casual collections including those created for the Super Bowl as well as his line for the UFL league. “Retail is still a valuable part of the business,” she said.

The former New York Giants player and “Good Morning America” anchor started his apparel journey in 2015 with tailored clothing and has since expanded it into a number of other categories.
