The hunt for much-loved TV doctor Michael Mosley resumes today after he vanished on a coastal walk in the town of Symi on Wednesday afternoon.

Officers hunting for the star on the Greek island of Symi, where he was holidaying with his wife Clare, said the operation had paused for the night on Thursday but that "more men" would be coming today (Friday).

Helicopters, drones, firefighters and a police dog have joined the hunt for the diet guru, known for shows including Trust Me, I'm A Doctor as well as This Morning and The One Show.

However, temperatures are forecast to reach as high as 48C on Friday and an extreme heat warning for Symi is likely to hamper the search for dad-of-four Dr Michael.

His phone was found in the place where he was staying with his wife, who reported him missing, a police spokesperson has confirmed.

Rescue efforts have been focusing on the Pedi area after a woman said she'd seen him there on Wednesday, said the island's deputy mayor, Ilias Chaskas.

The island's mayor Eleftherios Papakalodoukas said he believed it was likely Mr Mosley had either "followed another path" or had fallen into the sea, telling the BBC: "It is a very small, controlled area, full of people so if something happened to him there, we would have found him by now."

Here, we look at the full timeline of events surrounding Dr Mosley's disappearance, from Wednesday lunchtime when he set off on his walk, to now...
