Michael Mosley leaves behind £3.6m business after heartbreaking death aged 67 on Greek island

Dr Michael Mosley reportedly left behind a business worth millions following his tragic death. The TV doctor's passing was confirmed on 9 June, five days after he went missing on the Greek island of Symi.

Michael, 67, leaves behind a parenting firm called Parenting Matters which is worth a staggering £3.6 million, according to the Mirror. The company sells online courses for £150 to parents on how to raise kids, and has proven to be hugely popular over the years.

The latest accounts for Parenting Matters Ltd which cover 2022, show the firm had a bottom line of £3.6m, with £716,000 in cash for its three directors. The firm paid £259,438 in tax - meaning taxable profit for that year was around five times that figure.

The firm's website says: "We have created a fun online course, Parenting Matters. Through entertaining videos, cartoons and exercises where you try out new ways of communicating, you will get closer to your child and understand what makes them tick. They will become calmer, more helpful and learn better."

Michael ran the company with his wife Dr Clare Bailey Mosley and Professor Stephen Scott. On his website Mosley said of his firm: “I met Clare at medical school, and we later got married. Unlike her, I didn’t stay in medicine but instead, I became a BBC journalist and then a television presenter.

"Like Clare, I thought that having kids would be a breeze. It wasn’t. We did the best we could, but it was sometimes a struggle. When Clare set up Parenting Matters, I was so impressed to see how parents appreciated it and what a difference it made that I decided to make a TV series called Little Angels with Prof Tanya Byron, a leading psychologist who helped families with challenging children turn their lives around by working on more effective parenting skills. I think an online course is a brilliant idea and I do hope you enjoy it! Simple changes can transform your life, as in my book, Just One Thing!"
