Carys was dressed in a light pink gown with side cut-outs, while Zeta-Jones wore a red Elie Saab gown with a dramatic neckline that reached her waist.
Carys is the youngest child of Douglas and Zeta-Jones, as the pair are also parents to a son, Dylan Michael Douglas, 23.
Both Hollywood stars in their own right, Douglas and the Welsh Zeta-Jones have been married for nearly two and a half decades, despite their 25-year age gap. (Fun fact: they both share the same birthday – September 25).
Here’s a timeline of their relationship, from their meeting in 1998 to now.
2023 – They attend the Cannes Film Festival with their daughter
Douglas and Zeta-Jones made Cannes a family affair by bringing along Carys.
“Cannes! Cannes! What a soirée! To walk the iconic red carpet with my daughter @carys.douglas and my husband @michaelkirkdouglas as he receives his lifetime achievement Palm D’Or was a night I shall never forget, ever,” Zeta-Jones wrote on Instagram.
2020 – The pair celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary
To celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary on November 18, 2020, Zeta-Jones shared a video to her Instagram with pictures of the pair throughout their relationship.
She captioned the post: “20 years ago today Michael and I were married!! What an amazing magical night that was! And 7304.85 days and nights on, I love you now as I did then (except for the point 85 bit). Thank you for the love and laughter."
2018 – Michael Douglas says his love for Catherine Zeta-Jones ‘continues to grow’
During an interview at the 2018 Golden Globes, Douglas said: “We celebrated our 18th anniversary recently and besides the genuine love that only continues to grow, I think the fact that we're in the same industry really helps us to understand what is going on.”
2017 – The pair become grandparents
Michael Douglas became a grandfather for the first time in 2017, and Catherine Zeta-Jones became a step-grandmother, after Douglas’s son Cameron Douglas welcomed a child.
Douglas shared Cameron with his first wife, Diandra Luker.
2015 – Michael Douglas says their relationship is ‘stronger than ever’
During an appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show in 2015, Douglas said of their relationship: “It can't be a one-way street. But I'm crazy about her. And yeah, I think every couple has their difficult times. The only problem is, as you well know, we're all in the public eye, and it tends to get a little more exposed than most. We're back stronger than ever."
2013 – They briefly split
In August 2013, after 13 years of marriage, the couple announced their separation. This turned out to be brief however, as by September that year Douglas said that the pair were “working things out” and he thanked Zeta-Jones in his Emmy speech.
2010 – Michael Douglas opens up about his throat cancer diagnosis
Douglas revealed that he had been diagnosed with throat cancer in 2010 and by January 2011, he announced he was cancer-free.

Zeta-Jones won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress at the 2003 Academy Awards for her role in Chicago when she was heavily pregnant with her second child.
One month later, the pair welcomed a daughter, Carys Zeta Douglas.
2000 – They have their first child together and get married
Zeta-Jones and Douglas revealed they were expecting their first child together in early 2000, and their son Dylan Michael Douglas was born on August 8 that year.
Just three months later the pair got married at the Plaza Hotel in New York City with guests like Brad Pitt, Goldie Hawn, Tom Hanks and Whoopi Goldberg in attendance.
1999 – They get engaged
The pair got engaged in December 1999 during a New Year’s Eve trip to Aspen, Colorado.
1998 – Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones meet
Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones met in 1998 at the Deauville Film Festival while Zeta-Jones was promoting The Mask of Zorro and Douglas was promoting A Perfect Murder.
Douglas later told Jonathan Ross that he’d seen Zeta-Jones in her film and asked his publicist to arrange a meeting. The rest, they say, is history.
